Rough Canyon Campground is one of the most popular campgrounds on Lake Amistad and that partly has to do with the fact that there are only 4 campsites and it’s a quite and private campground compared to some of the others. Similar to most of the other campgrounds, there are no hookups, water, or dump stations.

All 4 campsites are big enough to accommodate large RVs. The fee is $4 a night and there is a self-pay station as well as a visitors center. All campsites are located around the perimeter with a lake view. All sites are first-come, first-served. There are toilets on the premises and all campsites have tables, shelters, grills.

The campground is located next to the Rough Canyon boat launch with also has covered picnic areas with grills. This campground is the north most state campground on Lake Amistad but if you are looking for a peaceful place to stay with waterfront views and lake access be sure to get here early before it fills up!
